Public Sector Training Event for current and prospective Trainee Solicitors

We are running a training event targeted at those in public sector organisations in the eastern region who are either current or prospective trainees, along with those who are currently working at a public sector organisation and on the road to qualifying, be it via the LPC or CILEx.

Sessions will include:
• Court Etiquette: A guide to hearings in the Family Court, County Court, Magistrates’ Court and Tribunals
• Career Progression: An opportunity to hear where a career in the Public Sector can take you
• Public Sector Awareness: A look at the current ‘hot topics’ affecting the sector

The timetable for the day is:

12:30pm Lunch on arrival
1:00pm Welcome and introductions
1:15pm Session 1 Public Sector Awareness: A look at the current ‘hot topics’ affecting the sector with Fiona Anthony, Professional Support Lawyer at nplaw
2:00pm Session 2 Court Etiquette: A guide to hearings in the Family Court with Laura Macdonald, Solicitor (Child Protection Team) at nplaw, County Court, Magistrates’ Court with Sarah Flaxman, Solicitor (Dispute Resolution Team) at nplaw, Tribunals and High Court with Naomi Rankin, Solicitor (Public Law Team) at nplaw
2:45pm Networking opportunity with refreshments
3:15pm Session 3 Career Progression: An opportunity to hear where a career in the Public Sector can take you with Area Coroner for Norfolk, Yvonne Blake
4:00pm Finish – opportunity for further networking
