Sarah Gibb trained in private practice before joining nplaw when she qualified in 2006. She specialises in commercial law and has been working in the public law team ever since: her work includes advising on contracts, procurement, state aid, grant funding, outsourcing and TUPE, pensions, intellectual property, and joint ventures and partnerships, as well as advising on charity and company law and general commercial matters.

Together with other members of her team, Sarah acts for a wide range of nplaw’s clients, including County, District and Parish Councils, schools and academies as well as companies and charities, and she has considerable experience of sitting on project boards. Sarah is often involved in high value projects which require proactive and creative approaches to complex arrangements or involve pressured environments arising from current practices, timescales, legal restrictions or partnership working. Examples include the construction of a framework, the delegation of functions to allow joint procurement with the NHS, the creation of a joint committee and an application to the Secretary of State for the transfer of property at an undervalue.

The strategic and commercial nature of the advice she gives and Sarah’s role on project boards demand flexibility, accuracy and attention to detail, team working and the ability to spot efficiencies or opportunities for clients, stave off foreseeable difficulties and involve fellow professionals in a timely way.
