Laura Macdonald graduated with a degree in Law in 2009 and completed her Legal Practice Course in 2013. She has experience of working within public sector organisations, having worked for the Crown Prosecution Service before attending university and with Norfolk Constabulary upon graduation. Prior to joining nplaw, Laura worked as a paralegal in private practice gaining experience in various areas including commercial property transactions, family matters and corporate share acquisitions.
Laura joined nplaw in June 2016 and started her training contract working with the public law and standards team. She advised on education and employment matters, drafting of commercial contracts and information law.
Laura then spent 12 months working within the property, planning and environmental teams. She managed a varied caseload including disposals, acquisitions and drafting commercial leases. Within the planning team her work included advising on complex s106 agreements for large scale developments, drafting highways agreements and completing footpath diversions.
Laura completed her final seat within the Child Protection team and qualified into the team as a Solicitor in June 2018. She advises clients in relation to public children law matters including care and supervision orders, special guardianship orders, discharge of care orders, change of name applications, and Criminal Injuries Compensation Claims. Laura represents Children’s Services at letter before action meetings and advocates during court proceedings.Back to Our People page >
