Julia Gibbs has over twenty years’ experience of family and children’s law. She qualified as a barrister in 1992 and worked in private practice with firms based in Norfolk and Suffolk before joining Norfolk County Council’s child protection team in 2003. A solicitor since 1996, she provides advice and advocacy services in public law proceedings for children, including cases involving special guardianship, placement order applications, adoption, wardship and inherent jurisdiction and child abduction.
Julia obtained an LLM in Child Law in 2012 and was previously a Family Law Panel member. She assists with the provision of training to groups of social workers and with the production of nplaw’s monthly newsletter which provides a legal briefing on child protection matters.Back to Our People page >
