The Chris Skinner Memorial Law Essay Competition 2019

14 February 2019 | Category

Last year we established an annual law essay writing competition in memory of Chris Skinner and we are pleased that the 2019 competition is now open for entries.

Chris Skinner was a much admired and respected member of the legal profession and Practice Director of nplaw, who sadly died in 2017. He was passionate about nurturing the legal talents of the next generation and always had time to mentor work experience students and trainee solicitors coming into the profession.

The competition is open to anyone living or studying in Norfolk who is currently in Year 12 or 13 (sixth form) or the college equivalent. The subject of this year’s essay is “What new law would you introduce and why?”

There is a limit of 2000 words and the closing date for the competition is 9pm on Sunday 3rd March 2019. There is a £75 cash prize for the winner together with the opportunity to undertake three days’ work experience at nplaw during the summer of 2019. Although there can only be one winner, we will also award “highly commended” certificates to those whose entry is judged to be good. We will hold a short prize-giving event at 5pm at County Hall, Norwich, on Wednesday 27th March 2019 for the winner and runners-up.

More information about the competition and how to enter can be found here – https://www.nplaw.co.uk/chris-skinner-memorial-law-essay-competition/
