Legal Careers Insight Days

19 May 2023 | Category

We are going to be running two Legal Careers Insight Days on different days – one in County Hall, Norwich, and the other in King’s Lynn. They are aimed at Year 12 students who might be interested in a career in law. As nplaw is part of Norfolk County Council, we would very much like to offer opportunities for Norfolk schools to help raise aspirations and allow students to hear from legal professionals they might not otherwise come into contact with.

The County Hall day will be the main one, as the venue is larger and there are more schools in the area. It will take place on Friday 7th July 2023 from 9.30am until 2.15pm.

We’ll have talks and presentations from lawyers working in different areas of the law and in different settings. UEA will be talking about the university application process and our trainee solicitors and a newly qualified barrister will share their career journeys so far.

We will also get the students to have a go at doing some legal tasks or activities.

The other day will take place in King’s Lynn at Springwood High School on Thursday 13th July from 10am until 2.15pm. It will be similar to the Norwich day and we would like the second day to replicate the first as much as possible.

We are still very much at the planning stage of this, so no time slots have been finalised. Publicity is due to go out to schools next week but informal indications are that we should have a lot of interest.
